Congress Gives Top Priority to BC Leaders, Says Revanth

Revanth Reddy met AICC general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal and discussed several issues. The AICC is expected to consider BC candidates for filling up nominated posts.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday said the party was giving top priority to Backward Classes communities and had taken several measures for their welfare.

During his interaction with BC leaders, who will meet with the party leadership on Monday, Revanth Reddy said the Congress government in Telangana was the first in the country to conduct a caste census in the stipulated time and pass a Bill in the Legislative Assembly proposing 42 per cent reservations for the BC community. He said the Congress would recognise their service for the party.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi would interact with the party’s BC leaders from Telangana on Monday. The party will get feedback from the BC leaders on caste census done in Telangana, people's welfare schemes being implemented in the state and other issues.
