Congress Gets 10 Times More Deals At Davos Than BRS
The scale of investments secured by the Congress government is nearly 10 times higher than what the previous BRS government managed during its decade-long tenure from 2014 to 2023: Reports

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy-led Telangana delegation has set a new benchmark in attracting investments at the World Economic Forum summits in Davos, signing memoranda of understanding worth nearly ₹2.5 lakh crore during the 2024, 2025 and 2026 editions. Of these, around 70 per cent of these commitments are already grounded.
The scale of investments secured by the Congress government is nearly 10 times higher than what the previous BRS government managed during its decade-long tenure from 2014 to 2023.
Data from the IT and industries department reveal that between 2018 and 2023, the previous BRS government attracted investments totalling ₹24,528 crore through its participation in Davos summits.
Although Telangana was formed in 2014, delegations to Davos were sent only from 2018 and were led by the then IT minister K.T. Rama Rao. No delegation was sent in 2019 due to general elections and the 2021 summit was cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Then chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao never attended the summit.
Within a month of assuming office in December 2023, Revanth Reddy participated in the January 2024 Davos summit and secured MoUs worth ₹40,232 crore, marking a record at the time for Telangana. The momentum gathered further in 2025 when the state signed MoUs worth ₹1,78,950 crore, expected to generate around 49,550 jobs.
In January 2026, MoUs worth nearly ₹30,000 crore were finalised, with the focus shifting towards aggressively promoting the “Telangana Rising 2047” vision rather than merely accumulating fresh agreements, especially in the backdrop of the recent summit held just a month ago in December 2025 where MoUs worth ₹5.75 lakh crore were signed.
An analysis of the BRS tenure shows comparatively modest achievements. In 2018, only one MoU was signed with Tech Mahindra without disclosure of investment value. In 2020, a ₹500 crore agreement was inked with Piramal Pharma. In 2022, 13 MoUs worth ₹4,128 crore were signed, followed by nine MoUs worth ₹19,900 crore in 2023. The largest proposal during that period came from Microsoft, which announced ₹16,000 crore for data centres in Hyderabad.
