Congress Focuses on Constituting Mandal Committees in Adilabad

Each mandal committee will have 21 members, including the president

ADILABAD: The Congress is focusing on constituting mandal-level committees across the erstwhile Adilabad district before August 15 as part of its ‘Sanghatan Srijan Abhiyan’ to strengthen the party at the grassroots.

The party is also setting up mandal-level political affairs committees comprising senior leaders from the respective mandals. Each mandal committee will have 21 members, including the president.

A team of senior Congress leaders led by District Congress Committee (DCC) president Naresh Jadhav is conducting mandal-level meetings to oversee the exercise. The team includes former MP Soyam Bapurao, Adilabad Municipal chairperson Bandari Anusha, Adilabad Market Committee chairman Srikanth Reddy, former DCC president Sajid Khan, Adilabad and Boath Assembly constituency in-charges Kandi Srinivas Reddy and Ade Gajender, and former Adilabad Market Committee chairman Sanjeev Reddy.

During the meetings, senior leaders are urging second-rung party functionaries to publicise the welfare and development schemes being implemented by the state government. They are also emphasising unity within the party by jointly participating in the meetings and motivating workers.

The party is giving priority to leaders of its frontal organisations during the mandal-level meetings as part of its organisational strengthening drive.
