Congress Earned Public Trust in 18 Months: TPCC Leader Kantham
antham sharply criticised the previous BRS government, accusing it of failing to issue ration cards and alleging that the Chandrashekar Rao family looted the public throughout their 10-year tenure. He said that the former CM cheated Dalits with false promises of appointing a Dalit chief minister and distributing three acres of land to each Dalit family.

Karimnagar: By successfully fulfilling the promises made to the public, the Congress government has won the hearts of the people of Telangana within just 18 months of taking office, said newly appointed Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) general secretary Gajjela Kantham during a press meet held at Indira Bhavan in Karimnagar on Saturday.
He said that it was the Congress that brought independence to the country and remains the only party actively implementing Scheduled Caste (SC) categorisation, while leading efforts to ensure social justice for SC, ST, and BC communities. He also praised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for providing 42 per cent reservations for the Backward Classes (BCs).
Kantham sharply criticised the previous BRS government, accusing it of failing to issue ration cards and alleging that the Chandrashekar Rao family looted the public throughout their 10-year tenure. He said that the former CM cheated Dalits with false promises of appointing a Dalit chief minister and distributing three acres of land to each Dalit family.
He further alleged that the Kaleshwaram project was executed purely for commissions, resulting in a scam worth over ₹1 lakh crore, and claimed a Rs 50,000 crore scam took place in the electricity department during the BRS regime. He also accused the Chandrashekar Rao family of amassing illegal wealth worth Rs 3 lakh crore and illegally registering around 30,000 acres of government land in Hyderabad under the names of close associates.
Drawing a contrast, Kantham said, “While Rahul Gandhi’s family has dedicated their lives to the service of the nation, the Chandrashekar Rao family worked solely for selfish interests and looted innocent people.” He concluded by stating that the KCR family would soon “end up in Tihar Jail.”
