Congress Disciplinary Panel Discuss Konda Murali Issue, Ignore Others’ Indiscipline

The committee has been continuing to address the issue for the past few months by conducting meetings at Gandhi Bhavan.

Hyderabad: Even though the TPCC disciplinary action committee convened a series of meetings concerning Congress leaders, including public representatives who crossed the party’s guidelines, it appears the committee focused only on the issue of Konda Murali, who reportedly made comments about other Congress leaders in Warangal district.

The committee has been continuing to address the issue for the past few months by conducting meetings at Gandhi Bhavan, discussing matters with minister Konda Surekha’s husband, Konda Murali, while letting off other senior leaders — MLA Anirudh Reddy and Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy.

Jadcherla Congress legislator A. Anirudh Reddy made statements against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and other party leaders. The MLA also filed petitions before the court seeking directions to suspend permission granted to a builder to construct high-rise towers in Khajaguda.

The committee failed to address the issue by engaging in discussions with the MLA. Similarly, the Munugode MLA Raj Gopal Reddy made several comments about the Chief Minister and others, creating a sensation within Congress circles. The committee could not take up these issues due to social considerations.

Congress disciplinary action committee chairman Mallu Ravi said on Sunday that they had conducted a meeting to discuss only the issue of Konda Murali.

Ravi added that they discussed issues affecting the united Warangal district leaders and inquired into internal disputes prevailing among party leaders. After obtaining consent from all leaders attending the meeting on Sunday, the committee decided to work together to expand the Congress party activities in their respective areas in Warangal, including preparations for the upcoming local body elections.

“We came to a decision to streamline the issues taking place in the district Congress party. We also discussed MLA Anirudh Reddy’s issue. There was no discussion regarding the Raj Gopal Reddy issue. It has not come to the attention of the committee,” Mallu Ravi said.
