Congress Blames BJP MPs, MLAs For Failing To Bring Central Funds For Telangana

Nizamabad Rural MLA R. Bhupati Reddy of Congress launched a sharp attack on BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind: Reports

NIZAMABAD: Nizamabad Rural MLA R. Bhupati Reddy of Congress launched a sharp attack on BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind and other party leaders for staging a “begging protest” over the delay in construction of the Madhav Nagar railway over bridge (ROB).

“If the BJP leaders want to beg, let them go to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union Home minister Amit Shah’s residences and seek funds due to Telangana,” the MLA retorted on Wednesday, accusing the BJP of indulging in petty politics to cover up the centre’s failures on development projects.

Bhupati Reddy said the state government is bearing 63 per cent of the ROB construction cost, while the centre’s share is only 37 per cent. He sought to point out that objections raised by Railways over girder works have delayed the project by nearly eight months.

The MLA questioned why the ROB subway works have remained incomplete and why railway projects in Arsapally area are progressing slowly. He said, as a result, the project cost has increased from ₹93 crore to ₹102 crore. The MP should explain the escalation in cost, he said.
Bhupati Reddy condemned the BJP for allegedly bringing students into the begging protest, stating that they should be allowed to concentrate on their education, instead of being drawn into political disputes.

The MLA challenged MP Arvind to explain what he has achieved for Nizamabad district during his nearly seven-year political tenure. He asked whether the Turmeric Board, established following promises made to farmers, has delivered tangible benefits.
