Congress Makes Big Gains In Constituencies Held By CM, Deputy CM, Ministers

The Congress secured victories in three municipalities in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s home constituency of Kodangal, winning a majority of wards in Kodangal, Maddur and Kosgi

Hyderabad: The Congress registered a decisive victory in municipalities and municipal corporations falling under the Assembly constituencies represented by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other ministers.

The party also recorded significant gains in urban local bodies located in Assembly constituencies represented by Opposition BRS and BJP MLAs.

The Congress secured victories in three municipalities in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s home constituency of Kodangal, winning a majority of wards in Kodangal, Maddur and Kosgi.

In Kodangal municipality, the Congress won 10 of the 12 wards, while the BRS and the MIM secured one ward each. In the16-ward Maddur, the Congress won nine, the BRS six and an Independent, one. The Congress swept all 16 wards at Kosgi, the BRS and the BJP failing to secure a single ward.

In the limits of the Madhira Assembly constituency, represented by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, the Congress won 11 of the 22 wards in Madhira municipality. The Congress, along with the Left parties, secured 21 of the 22 wards.

In Nalgonda Assembly constituency, represented by roads and nuildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, the Congress won 27 of the 48 wards in the Nalgonda Municipal Corporation in its inaugural election.

In Palair Assembly constituency, represented by revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, the Congress won 24 of the 32 wards in Edulapuram Municipality.

The Congress won 16 of 19 wards of Kollapur municipality, part of the Assembly constituency of the same name that is represented by excise minister Jupally Krishna Rao.

In transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar’s Husnabad constituency, the Congress secured 16 of the 20 wards in the Husnabad municipality.

In Mulugu constituency, represented by panchayat raj minister Danasari ‘Seethakka’ Anasuya, the Congress won 12 of the 20 divisions in the Mulugu municipality, while Congress rebels secured two wards.
