Computing Meets Visualisation at 3-Day NIT Warangal Fete

WARANGAL: The department of mathematics at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal inaugurated a three-day international conference on scientific computing and visualisation at the institute’s Raman Hall on Friday.
Titled “Knowledge and Advances in Scientific Computing Jointly with Visualisation for Real-World Applications (KASI-JVR 2026)”, the conference is being held from July 10 to 12 and brings together academicians and researchers to discuss advances in scientific computing, mathematical modelling and visualisation.
Prof. Sridhar Rao Gunakala, professor and head at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine, inaugurated the conference as chief guest. Prof. P.V.S.N. Murthy of IIT Kharagpur and Prof. Y.V.S.S. Sanyasiraju of IIT Madras attended as distinguished guests.
NIT Warangal in-charge director Prof. N.V. Umamahesh said the conference focuses on a rapidly evolving field and underlined the role of scientific computing and visualisation in addressing complex research challenges.
The session was presided over by Prof. R.S. Selvaraj, head of the department of mathematics. Prof. D. Srinivasacharya, chairman of KASI-JVR 2026, outlined the objectives and emphasised the need for collaborative research.
The conference is being organised in honour of Prof. K.N.S. Kasi Viswanatham and Prof. J.V. Ramanamurthy on the occasion of their retirement, recognising their contributions to teaching, research and academic administration.
In his keynote address, Prof. Sridhar Rao Gunakala said, “Scientific computing and visualisation have become indispensable to modern research, enabling data-driven solutions to complex scientific and societal challenges.”
