Commemorative Coin For ‘Make In India’ Unveiled
A ₹100 coloured commemorative coin has been issued to mark 10 years of the Make in India initiative, becoming the first government-issued coin with a coloured design.
To mark ten years of the ambitious Make in India initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India has issued a ₹100 coloured commemorative coin — the first of its kind.
This is the first time a coin issued by the government features a coloured design. The inaugural set was received by senior coin collector Rajkumar Agrawal of Ghasi Bazaar, Hyderabad, renowned nationwide for his expertise and passion for numismatics.
According to Agrawal, the Special Edition Set was minted at the India Government Mint, Kolkata. It includes an acrylic cut‑out featuring the iconic Make in India lion logo, with two coins mounted inside — one displaying the obverse and the other the reverse.
The set is presented in an elegant jute box, adding to its collectible appeal.
