Hyderabad Comic Con will be held at Bharat Future City from December 11–13, featuring comics, anime, cosplay, gaming, music and international guests.
Hyderabad Comic Con will return from December 11 to 13 at Bharat Future City instead of their earlier HITEX location, with the three-day event becoming part of the Invest Telangana Global Summit for the first time and the third year of partnering with India Joy, both initiatives by the state government. The edition like previous ones will feature comics, anime, cosplay, gaming, creator interactions, live music, stand-up comedy and international guests.
“Comic Con is a celebration of stories, characters and fandoms, much like the festivals that bring people together every year. Hyderabad, with its rich storytelling culture, from the larger-than-life world of Telugu cinema to Telangana’s traditional art forms like Oggu Katha and Burrakatha, has always had a strong connection with stories and entertainment. Comic Con brings this spirit into a modern pop-culture space, where fans come together to celebrate what they love, express themselves and create memories. We are excited to bring this celebration back to Hyderabad and experience the city’s unique fandom once again,” said Akshat Rathee, co-founder and managing director of NODWIN Gaming.
The event will begin at 11 am each day. Tickets are now available, according to NODWIN Gaming, which announced the edition on Wednesday.
Gaming will get a separate space through the Hyderabad chapter of Indie Game Utsav. Independent game developers can showcase their work before gamers and international publishers. Visitors can expect gaming zones, immersive brand experience areas and activities across the three days.
Shefali Johnson, CEO of Comic Con India, said Hyderabad had built a close connection with the event. “Hyderabad is one of our most exciting Comic Con cities, with a community that brings incredible energy and enthusiasm to the showfloor. The city has a rich tradition of storytelling, and Cheriyal scroll paintings are a beautiful example of this, using a series of visuals to bring stories and characters to life, much like comics and graphic storytelling do today. We see that same love for stories in the way Hyderabad’s fans come together at Comic Con, whether through cosplay, comics, anime, gaming or simply sharing their favourite fandoms with each other. We are excited to return and celebrate this unique storytelling spirit with Hyderabad once again,” she said.
