NIZAMABAD: District in-charge collector Bhavesh Mishra has directed Mandal Special Officers to conduct regular inspections of government welfare hostels, schools and residential educational institutions to improve their management and ensure quality education.
Reviewing the functioning of mandal special officers at the Integrated District Offices Complex on Friday, the collector instructed them to coordinate with mandal-level officials and prepare an action plan to ensure that every educational institution is inspected at least once a week.
He said regular visits should cover welfare hostels, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs), Ashram schools, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Residential Schools, and BC, SC and Minority Residential Educational Institutions across the district.
The collector directed officials to take preventive measures to avoid incidents such as food poisoning, snake bites and scorpion stings. He also instructed officers to upload observations from every inspection through a dedicated mobile application.
He said any old or dilapidated buildings identified during inspections should be demolished without delay to prevent accidents.
Bhavesh Mishra also stressed the effective implementation of the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) programme to improve students' learning outcomes.
In addition, he instructed field-level officials to compile accurate information on government offices, educational institutions and historical sites in every mandal for the preparation of the District Census Handbook.
