Coal Ministry Sets Up Team to Review Naini Coal Block Tender

Panel to examine tender cancellation and CSR compliance; report due in three days

Hyderabad: A technical team has been set up by the Ministry of Coal to review the Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) issued on November 28, 2025, for appointing a Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) for the Naini Coal Block of SCCL.
The team includes Chetna Shukla, Deputy Director General, and Marapally Venkateshwarlu, Director (T/NA), from the Ministry of Coal.
The team will study the reasons behind the cancellation of the tender, compare the tender process with practices followed by other coal companies, and check whether SCCL’s CSR spending follows statutory rules.
The members will visit SCCL headquarters and are expected to submit their report within three days.
