CMC Issues Notice to Food Safety Violator
An improvement notice is issued to the establishment to rectify the deficiencies and strengthen food safety practices.
HYDERABAD: Food safety teams of the Cyberabad municipal corporation found food safety violations at the Big Basket Warehouse (Innovative retail concepts Pvt Ltd), JayaBheri in Kompally on Tuesday. Officials found the food handlers were working without gloves and hairnets and non-food articles were stored alongside food items in certain locations. It was also found that the onion, ginger and garlic storage area was untidy and medical fitness records of food handlers were unavailable. An improvement notice is issued to the establishment to rectify the deficiencies and strengthen food safety practices.
MMC to focus on scientific disposal of construction and demolition waste
Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation will be focusing on removing encroachments, scientific disposal of Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste and preventing garbage dumping in colonies with the directions from commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy.
On Tuesday the commissioner conducted a field inspection in Nagarjunanagar colony (Kapra Circle) and assessed the condition of roads and planter boxes. He directed the urban biodiversity department to identify all empty planter boxes in coordination with sanitary field assistants and plant saplings in them.
Reddy also directed officials to take action on unauthorised ramps and other encroachments on roads. He also instructed officials to clear accumulated C&D waste from roads and explore the possibility of using it to fill low-lying areas where necessary.
The commissioner said the commercial establishments have to display their trade licenses. He said hostels are required to maintain all relevant statutory permissions and records alongside their trade licenses.
In addition, the MMC, along with the national centre for vector-borne disease control held a meeting to implement prevention and control measures for vector-borne diseases during the monsoon season.
Officials were given specific directives regarding the prevention of diseases such as Dengue, Malaria and Chikungunya. Key measures emphasised included larval eradication, source reduction, door-to-door surveys, identification of mosquito breeding sites, continuous monitoring and the conduct of extensive public awareness campaigns.
