CMC Commissioner Inspects Jeedimetla, Dundigal Facilities to Study Scientific Waste Management Practices

Hyderabad:Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) officials visited the waste processing facilities at Jeedimetla and Dundigal on Friday to study the technologies and operational practices adopted for scientific waste management. CMC commissioner G. Srijana reviewed the process of collection, segregation, recycling and processing of construction and demolition waste at Jeedimetla. The functioning of the plant and the reuse of processed materials were also examined.
At Dundigal, the commissioner inspected the waste-to-energy plant, hazardous waste management facility and e-waste recycling unit. She reviewed waste processing systems, pollution control measures, resource recovery practices and energy generation processes.
During the visit officials held discussions with officials and technical experts on the existing processing capacity of the facilities, operational practices, infrastructure requirements, future capacity expansion and the scope for adopting suitable technologies based on the city's waste management needs.
They also reviewed the implementation of smart waste management practices, digital monitoring systems, automation and resource recovery models being adopted at the facilities and discussed their applicability in strengthening waste management services in Cyberabad.
