CM Revanth Urges US Ambassador To Simplify H-1B Visa Processing, Stamping Procedures

Revanth Reddy also requested an increase in the number of visas for students from Telangana travelling to the USA for higher education and sought assistance in ensuring timely visa appointments

New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday met US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and requested him to simplify the H-1B visa processing, renewal and stamping procedures to avoid delays.
During the 30-minute meeting, the chief minister also requested an increase in the number of visas for students from Telangana travelling to the USA for higher education and sought assistance in ensuring timely visa appointments.
The CM also urged for an increase in visa interview slots and the expediting of visa application processing, while appealing to the Ambassador to provide the information in advance regarding any changes in the visa regulations.
In the meeting, the CM brought to the Ambassador's attention the issues faced by professionals from Telangana working in various sectors in America, an official statement said.
They also discussed the safety and welfare of students from Telangana studying in the USA.
Highlighting the investment prospects for US companies in Telangana, the CM said the state government is ready to join as partners with US companies in IT, artificial intelligence, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, startups, research, and modern technology.
He requested the ambassador to facilitate collaborations between US universities and educational institutions in Telangana.
The CM stressed that student exchange, research, innovation, and skill development programs be expanded between America and Telangana.
He also emphasised the need to strengthen cooperation in sectors such as education, employment, investments, technology, and research within Telangana.
The Ambassador assured full cooperation in further expanding trade, investments, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people ties between Telangana and the United States.
