Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday called upon cardiologists to join hands with the government to prevent heart diseases and reduce avoidable deaths through awareness, early intervention and community participation. He said preventive medicine was often neglected, and educating citizens about healthy lifestyles and emergency response techniques could improve survival rates and overall public health.
Revanth Reddy suggested that cardiologists could volunteer to train school students in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Addressing the Fellows India 2026 conference at the HICC here, the Chief Minister highlighted the need for a united effort involving doctors, government and society to save more people even as heart ailments continued to claim a large number of lives.
Revanth Reddy reiterated that healthcare remained a top priority for the Telangana government and assured the medical fraternity that the administration was open to collaborating with doctors to frame better policies in the public interest. He invited cardiologists to share their suggestions and feedback to strengthen the healthcare system.
Revanth Reddy said advancements in quantum computing and artificial intelligence were transforming medical science into a highly technology-driven field. While urging doctors to remain updated with the latest innovations, he reminded them not to lose the human touch, which he described as the foundation of compassionate healthcare.
He appealed to the medical community to constantly work towards improving the quality of healthcare and aspire to make Telangana a global benchmark in medical excellence. Each doctor, he said, should strive to become the best in their profession and uphold the highest standards of service.
Revanth Reddy noted that more than 500 cardiologists from across India and neighbouring Southeast Asian countries were participating in the event and appreciated their commitment to continuous learning even after achieving professional success.
