CM Revanth to Visit UK, US From Aug 19 to 30

Official sources said the decision to curtail the tour was taken in view of the state government's plans to convene the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly in the first week of September.

Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has curtailed his upcoming foreign tour, with the revised itinerary covering only the United Kingdom and the United States from August 19 to 30. The earlier plan also included China and Germany, and the tour ran from August 19 to September 10.

Official sources said the decision to curtail the tour was taken in view of the state government's plans to convene the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly in the first week of September.

The Chief Minister will head a delegation which will focus primarily on strengthening education, skill development and sports in Telangana. It will study best practices followed by reputed universities, sports institutions and skill-development centres abroad and explore ways to replicate successful models in Telangana.

He will also visit prominent educational institutions in London and the US and hold discussions with their representatives to expand opportunities for Telangana students and youth across various fields.

Revanth Reddy is expected to discuss possible collaborations and MoUs with leading universities, besides examining emerging trends in education and employment. With artificial intelligence rapidly transforming the job market, discussions will focus on the future of white-collar employment, new skills required for blue-collar jobs and ways to prepare Telangana's youth for changing employment opportunities. The growing concerns among young people over job security will also be among the issues considered during the tour, official sources said.

In London, the delegation is expected to visit leading institutions including the University of Oxford, London Business School, University of Cambridge and the London School of Economics and Political Science. Possibilities of entering into MoUs with universities and other institutions will be explored.

The Chief Minister's team will study sports universities, sports infrastructure projects, sports medicine, athlete training and "train-the-trainer" programmes, while seeking to learn from the expertise and experience of specialists in Britain.

The delegation is scheduled to travel to the US on August 23 and is expected to hold meetings with representatives of leading universities. The programme includes interactions with representatives of Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Northeastern University.

Discussions with deans, professors and other academic experts will focus on education, research and skill development, particularly on creating opportunities for Telangana students and youth in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics engineering and executive education.

Revanth Reddy is also expected to hold meetings with prominent educational institutions in New York. The delegation will explore partnerships with institutions specialising in fields such as architecture and medicine, with a focus on expanding educational and training opportunities in these areas in Telangana.
