CM Revanth to lay foundation for new Osmania hospital on January 31

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation for the construction of a new Osmania General Hospital (OGH) in Goshamahal on January 31. The decision was taken during the review meeting chaired by Reddy at his residence here on Saturday.
He asserted that the new building that will boast of state-of-the-art facilities, should meet the needs of people for the next 100 years. He ordered officials to construct a high-quality structure without compromising on any issue.
Reddy said all regulations should be followed in the construction of the hospital and hostel buildings that will be built separately for the teaching staff and medicos.
The Chief Minister stressed that a road network should be developed on all four sides to facilitate hassle-free vehicular flow as vehicles would be having patients. Underpasses should also be built to connect with other roads if needed, he said. He urged officials to develop two floors of underground parking for the convenience of patients, helpers and attendants. He sought construction of dormitories, fire stations, canteens, toilets and STPs inside the hospital premises apart from a mortuary and body freezing boxes with modern facilities as many families have children, who are settled and it would take them two to three days to arrive.
Reddy also called for construction of a helipad to cater to heli-ambulances.
Reddy reviewed several architectural models and suggested changes to ensure that functionality and aesthetics are balanced.
Health minister C. Damodar Rajanarsimha, CM’s adviser Vem Narender Reddy, state government adviser (infrastructure) Srinivasa Raju, and senior officials were present in the meeting.
