CM Revanth to Inaugurate 3.3-Km Steel Flyover
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner R.V. Karnan inspected the steel bridge on Wednesday.

Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will inaugurate the 3.32-km, four-lane Chanchalguda–Santoshnagar Steel Flyover on Thursday. The corridor connects Chanchalguda, Saidabad and IS Sadan and is expected to provide signal-free travel from Nalgonda crossroads to Owaisi Hospital.
The project comprises a 2.53-km main viaduct and a 200-metre up-ramp at the IS Sadan junction. The flyover has been built for Rs 620 crore. Of which, Rs 523.37 crore was spent for civil works and Rs 153.37 crore for the land acquisition. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner R.V. Karnan inspected the steel bridge on Wednesday.
Commuters travelling from Chanchalguda Printing Press to IS Sadan currently take around 30 minutes during peak hours because of traffic congestion. The flyover is expected to reduce the travel time to around five minutes.
The flyover is being inaugurated after a four-year delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and land acquisition issues. It begins near Chanchalguda Printing Press and extends to Santoshnagar, with the main ramp running from Chanchalguda to Yadagiri Theatre. It also has an up-ramp at Saidabad and a down-ramp at IS Sadan.
The facility is also expected to benefit employees of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL) and other establishments under the Union defence ministry. Several employees use the Chanchalguda road to reach these offices.
“Finally, this flyover is being opened; while the works were underway, the traffic snarls were worse. Due to this flyover to reach Chandrayangutta from Malakpet, we can skip the Chanchalguda, Saidabad, Madannapet and IS Sadan, junctions that experience traffic jams,” said Md. Naveed from Akbarbgah.
