CM Revanth Tells Collectors to Provide Tips on Bhu Bharati to People

Under the new Bhu Bharati Act, the revenue department is tasked with addressing these issues directly, including informing citizens about the appeals process

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday warned district collectors against any lapses in the proper implementation of the new Bhu Bharati Act, the Indiramma housing scheme, and the uninterrupted supply of drinking water during the summer.

Speaking at a collectors' conference held at MCRHRDI, he made it mandatory for all district collectors to visit mandals and conduct meetings to educate the public about the provisions and benefits of the Bhu Bharati Act, ensuring that people fully understand the initiative at the grassroots level.

Stressing on the importance of field-level awareness campaigns, the Chief Minister instructed collectors to attend meetings in each mandal, engage with farmers and clarify their doubts in simple, accessible language.

He stated that the Bhu Bharati portal, developed after extensive research, would streamline land ownership records and resolve long-pending revenue issues.

Highlighting past inefficiencies under the BRS regime's Dharani portal, the Chief Minister pointed out that farmers were often forced to approach courts due to bureaucratic negligence. Under the new Bhu Bharati Act, the revenue department is tasked with addressing these issues directly, including informing citizens about the appeals process.

As part of the portal’s pilot phase, the Chief Minister has directed that awareness meetings be conducted in Maddur (Narayanpet), Nelakondapalli (Khammam), Lingampeta (Kamareddy), and Venkatapur (Mulugu), with full participation from district-level revenue staff. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and other senior ministers will also attend these sessions, he added.

Revanth Reddy also stressed the need for efficient implementation of the Indiramma housing scheme. Mandal-level committees are to review housing applications approved at the village level, with final approval resting with the district in-charge minister. To ensure constant oversight, Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari has been instructed to appoint a Special Officer for each Assembly constituency. These officers will coordinate among various committees and district officials to monitor construction progress.

The Chief Minister issued a stern warning that no political or external pressure should influence the allocation of houses. He cautioned that mandal-level committees and Special Officers would face strict action if ineligible beneficiaries are selected. With 3,500 houses allocated per constituency, he stressed the need for equitable distribution based on village population and strict adherence to deadlines.

Speaking on the summer drinking water supply, the Chief Minister urged collectors to monitor village-level water resources via dashboards and maintain constant coordination with the Irrigation, Drinking Water Supply, and Energy Departments. Contingency plans must be in place for areas without pipelines or functioning taps, particularly in tribal habitations.

Revanth Reddy assured that funds for pipeline repairs and borewell maintenance have already been disbursed, and additional support will be provided if necessary. He instructed collectors to notify the Chief Secretary immediately in the event of water supply disruptions, especially in Hyderabad and other urban areas.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Konda Surekha, and senior officials from various departments.
