CM Revanth Studies Tokyo’s Waterfront for Musi
The study visit holds particular significance in the context of the Musi Riverfront Development Project

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the state government delegation on Friday visited the Tokyo Waterfront to study world-class development practices, against the backdrop of his flagship plan to develop the Musi in Hyderabad. The visit focused on the transformation of the Sumida River, which flows through central Tokyo and has emerged as a prominent tourist and urban attraction following its systematic development.
The delegation examined various aspects of the Sumida riverfront development, including the promotion of water transport, construction of a long flyover alongside the river, elevated corridors where required, and the establishment of associated urban infrastructure. These integrated development efforts have played a pivotal role in reshaping Tokyo’s urban landscape.
This study visit holds particular significance in the context of the Musi River Riverfront Development Project, currently being conceptualised to transform Hyderabad. The Chief Minister and the delegation undertook a preliminary inspection of the riverfront with the objective of incorporating global best practices into the planning and execution of riverfront development in Telangana.
