CM Revanth Sets Up Committee to Identify Telangana Statehood Activists
The committee’s primary responsibility will be to formulate clear criteria for identifying Telangana movement activists. Based on these guidelines, it will prepare a list of eligible activists and later recommend the kind of recognition, honours and facilities that should be extended to them by the government.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has constituted a committee to identify statehood activists (Telangana Udyamakarulu) and make recommendations to recognise and honour their contributions and sacrifices during the Telangana movement.
The general administration department (GAD) issued GO Rt. No. 679 on Friday to this effect. The decision came amid a long-pending demand to officially recognise the services of those who participated in the Telangana movement, during which several activists sacrificed their lives, some suffered permanent physical disabilities, while many others faced criminal cases and imprisonment.
Government adviser K. Keshava Rao has been appointed chairman of the committee. The members include transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar, MLC M. Kodandaram, MLC and whip Addanki Dayakar, former MLC S. Ramulu Naik and Mothe Shobhan Reddy. The political secretary, GAD, will function as the convener of the committee.

According to the orders, the committee has been empowered to summon officials, collect information, conduct meetings and consult any individuals or authorities deemed necessary for its work. The government directed the committee to submit its report at the earliest. The orders also instructed all departments and secretaries to extend full cooperation to the committee in carrying out its responsibilities.
