He said he would focus special attention on resolving issues and challenges in the development of the infrastructure in the agency areas.

Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy affirmed that all measures would be taken to ensure the comprehensive development of Adivasi, tribals and the agency areas. He said he would focus special attention on resolving issues and challenges in the development of the infrastructure in the agency areas.

He was speaking to a delegation of tribal and Adivasi MLAs, led by ST welfare minister Danasari ‘Seethakka’ Anasuya that met with the Chief Minister at his Jubilee Hills residence on Monday. The delegation submitted a memorandum to the CM and also discussed the development works in the tribal dominated areas.

Speaking on this occasion, Revanth Reddy assured the delegation that priority would be given to the construction of check dams in the Agency areas, noting that such structures would help fulfill both drinking water and irrigation requirements.

Further, the Chief Minister said that steps would be taken to ensure that no hurdles arise from the forest department in the construction of check dams and roads. Necessary permissions from the forest department would also be secured expeditiously. The Chief Minister also responded positively to a request seeking permission for Adivasi and tribal farmers to drill borewells on the lands they are currently cultivating.

The delegation brought to the Chief Minister's attention the fact that road repairs were delayed due to objections raised by the forest department, and that permissions for the construction of new roads are being withheld in certain areas.

In a quick response, the CM directed forest department to take a decision on these matters expeditiously and assured them that the proposal to increase the quota of 'Indiramma' houses in Adivasi and tribal regions would be given due consideration. Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) would also be strengthened. Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju, Pinapaka MLA Payam Venkateswarlu, and Mahabubabad MLA Dr. Murali Naik and Rajya Sabha member Vem Narender Reddy were also present.
