Cops Stop Revanth-led Rally
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Wednesday refused to allow the Congress' rally, which was led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, to go to Raj Bhavan to submit a representation to the Governor.
The police forces have been deployed at Raj Bhavan, and Indira Gandhi statue at Necklace Road. They also took measures to prevent traffic snarls on Raj Bhavan Road, Khairatabad flyover and Necklace Road by allowing commuters. When the Chief Minister reached the Indira Gandhi statue junction, the police stopped the traffic movement on Khairatabad flyover and diverted the traffic movement.
The West Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) S.A. Vijaya Kumar monitored the situation at Raj Bhavan and its route where the Chief Minister participated in the rally. However, the police closed the Raj Bhavan Road and stopped the rally at government school at Raj Bhavan and no Congress cadre were not allowed towards Raj Bhavan.
TPCC senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao opposed the police by opening the gate at the Raj Bhavan. Speaking to media persons, Hanumantha Rao said that the Chief Minister took the decision to make Fourth City a future city by promoting the sports in Telangana.
"The BJP-led NDA government at the Centre by Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed to provide funds to Telangana and the Prime Minister supports Adani who indulged in irregularities," Hanumantha Rao alleged.
As the police stopped the Congress rally a few meters away from Raj Bhavan, there was not much traffic snarls on the stretch. Heavy crowd turned up to the Congress protest rally and the party leaders exhibited CBI, IT and ED mockers alleging that the BJP uses these agencies to harass opposition parties in the country.
