CM Revanth Leaves for Delhi, Key Issues on Agenda
The CWC meeting will be attended by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, senior leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and other members of the party’s top decision-making body.

The CWC is expected to deliberate on the political and organisational strategy of the party at the national level, with a specific focus on the BJP-led government at the Centre and its replacing the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act with the VB-G RAM G Act.Party sources said Revanth Reddy was likely to hold separate meetings with Kharge and Rahul Gandhi on Sunday and discuss issues related to the expansion of the Telangana Cabinet, possible reshuffling of portfolios among the ministers and the filling of long-pending nominated posts in government bodies.
There are two vacancies in the Cabinet, and the CM is keen on securing the approval of the party high command to fill these berths.Speculation has also intensified within political circles about the possibility of dropping a few ministers whose performance is perceived to be below expectations over the past two years and inducting new faces in their place. However, party insiders indicated that any major reshuffle was unlikely in the immediate future and may be deferred until after the completion of elections to local bodies, including mandal and zilla parishads, municipalities and municipal corporations, including the GHMC, which are expected to be held in the first half of 2026.Revanth Reddy was also likely to finalise a comprehensive list of nominated posts, covering both state- and district-level positions such as chairpersons and directors of various corporations and boards.
Meanwhile, party sources revealed that the Congress OBC National Advisory Council meeting is likely to be held in Hyderabad in the third week of January. AICC leader Rahul Gandhi is expected to attend the meeting.
The proposed gathering will focus on policies, political strategies and action plans concerning Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the backdrop of upcoming elections. Discussions are expected to centre on the party’s nationwide approach towards OBC representation and its commitment to social justice. The final date, agenda and logistical arrangements for the Hyderabad meeting are expected to be decided after the CWC deliberations in Delhi. Training sessions may also be organised as part of the programme. Several prominent OBC leaders from across the country are expected to participate. The Chief Minister is scheduled to return to Hyderabad by Sunday evening to attend the winter session of the Legislative Assembly beginning on Monday.
