Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday announced a drive to recruit 1,061 assistant professor in state universities, the first such initiative in 15 years. The move aims to resolve the faculty shortage that has plagued universities during this tme.
Revanth Reddy shared the news on a social media post, calling the recruitment a crucial step in strengthening the state's academic infrastructure. He accused the previous BRS government of gross negligence towards higher education, especially in institutions serving students from socially and economically weaker sections.
“It is quite surprising and astonishing that this recruitment process has not taken place in the past 15 years,” the Chief Minister said. “The previous BRS government's negligence towards the education of poor children is an unforgivable crime. We are recognising and correcting such mistakes committed across every system during the BRS regime.” Highlighting the state government’s commitment to transparency and reforms, Revanth Reddy added that guidelines for the recruitment process have already been released. He said universities would soon form dedicated committees to finalise roster points and reservation norms for the appointments.
To ensure accountability, the government will publish candidate scores and selection lists at every stage of the recruitment process on an official website, allowing public access and scrutiny. “This is part of our larger mission to rebuild the state,” Revanth Reddy said, reaffirming his government’s stance as a “people’s government” determined to restore fairness and efficiency in all systems.
