Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Vijayadashami: Reports
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Vijayadashami, a festival that symbolises the triumph of good over evil and righteousness over unrighteousness. He noted that Dasara holds a special place in the culture and traditions of Telangana.
He stated that the festival of Dasara imparts great values such as courage, righteousness, truth, unity, and self-confidence. The message of this festival, he added, is for everyone to strive toward building a society rooted in love, compassion, brotherhood, and humanity, by shedding negative traits like ego, jealousy, hatred, and injustice. "I sincerely wish that this Vijayadashami brings joy to every home, fills every family with happiness and prosperity, and bestows good health, abundant wealth, and success upon everyone," he stated in a media statement. Revanth Reddy further noted that this auspicious day reminds us of the power of the Goddess, who vanquished the demon Mahishasura, and the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana. He highlighted a unique tradition in Telangana, including worshipping the ‘Jammi’ tree (Prosopis cineraria) and exchanging its leaves which are regarded as 'gold,' with elders to seek their blessings. This custom, he noted, serves as a reminder to cherish nature and show respect toward elders.
Union minister for coal and mines G. Kishan Reddy also extended warm Vijayadasami greetings to people and said the festival symbolises the victory of good over evil, dharma over adharma and truth over falsehood. Recalling Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and Goddess Durga’s triumph over Mahishasura, he said the festival inspires people to uphold goodness, discipline, service and mutual respect. He wished prosperity for farmers, workers, youth and women, and expressed hope that the country would progress faster on the development path with everyone’s cooperation. He also prayed for the good health, happiness and well-being of every household. The BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao greeted the people of the state and said Dasara teaches that righteousness ultimately prevails despite hardships. He wished good harvests for farmers, opportunities for youth, safety and dignity for women, and health and happiness for all families. He called for unity, social harmony and collective efforts to take Telangana and the nation forward.
