CM Revanth Discusses Key Issues with Tummala

The Chief Minister said that the government had accorded top priority to the agriculture sector with the allocation of large sums of money in the State Budget.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday held discussions with agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on several issues. Sources said Nageswara Rao brought up several issues regarding the sector during the meeting which was held in the residence of the Chief Minister.

One of the issues was believed to be the crop loss that took place in districts due to several days of heavy rain, and the need to provide relief for farmers. The government would estimate the crop loss by directing officials to take up a survey in all villages.

The Chief Minister said that the government had accorded top priority to the agriculture sector with the allocation of large sums of money in the State Budget. Revanth Reddy reportedly asked Nageswara Rao to take measures to resolve the issues based on priority.

Rana likely to appear before ED in betting app case

Hyderabad: Telugu film actor Rana Daggubati is likely to appear before Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials on Monday in connection with the betting apps case.

The ED officials are probing the case of betting apps and related financial fraud under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), based on cases registered by the Hyderabad, Cyberabad police, and CID. There are 30 cases registered against betting apps and their organisers. The agency suspects that Tollywood actors and celebrities have been involved in endorsing the betting apps and collecting large amounts.

The ED had earlier summoned Rana to appear before the agency. He sought more time, stating that he was busy shooting in Tamil Nadu. Following his request, the ED officials rescheduled his appearance to August 11.

The ED has already questioned actors Prakash Raj and Vijay Devarakonda for promoting the betting apps. Actress Manchu Lakshi is likely to appear before the ED on August 13.

GHMC plans "adopt pet" drive today

Hyderabad: The GHMC will host a special pet adoption drive on Sunday, at Jalagam Vengal Rao Park, Road No. 1, Banjara Hills. commissioner R.V. Karnan said on Saturday. The event, titled ‘Give Love a Home’, will run from 6 am to 10 am. In a statement, the GHMC said the puppies up for adoption were healthy, vaccinated, and dewormed. Adoption is free, with the GHMC stressing that “all you need is love” to welcome a new furry friend.

Telangana Haj Committee Receives 11,414 Applications for Next Year’s Pilgrimage

Hyderabad: The Telangana Haj Committee said it had received 11,414 online applications for the pilgrimage next year, at the conclusion of the extended deadline of August 7.

The draw of the applications which will be done through a random selection system will take place in 2-3 days. Seats will be reserved for those above 65 and the Mehram quota.

According to a Haj Committee official, the early deadline was meant to efficiently manage the large number of pilgrims, secure flights and accommodation and ensure overall smooth arrangements.

Telangana Haj Committee chairman advised the applicants to be prepared to pay the first installment money of Rs.1.5 lakh if selected. The general package will be of 42 days as usual; a new 20-day package will be introduced for senior citizens, government employees and those who prefer a shorter journey. The cost of the new package will be announced after the draw.
