CM Placing Musi Beautification Over Drought Relief: KTR
The government must immediately halt the Musi project and use the ₹1.5 lakh crore to support people during this drought.

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday slammed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for pushing the Musi beautification project and wanting to bring 10 TMC ft of water from Mallannasagar reservoir to “clean” the river even as the state is in the grip of a serious drought.
Addressing a press conference, Rama Rao asked: “Why focus on Musi beautification at the cost of ₹1.5 lakh crore when crops are withering away?
The CM and the government are constantly saying there is not enough water even to drink in the state.
Why bring 10 TMC of water from Mallanna Sagar for release into the Musi amidst this drought?”
The government must immediately halt the Musi project and use the ₹1.5 lakh crore to support people during this drought.
“This CM is like Emperor Nero who played the fiddle while Rome burned,” he said.
Rama Rao also questioned the logic behind holding a global investment summit in the state in December amidst the drought.
“What will the CM tell the investors?
That Telangana has no water or power?
That the present conditions are thanks to his inept handling of the situation,” Rama Rao asked.
