CM Makes Building Permits Go Easy
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced a major overhaul of the construction permit system within the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR) limits, now officially designated as the ‘Telangana Core Urban Region’.

Hyderabad: In an attempt to transform the core urban region into an international-standard urban agglomeration, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced a major overhaul of the construction permit system within the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR) limits, now officially designated as the ‘Telangana Core Urban Region’.
During a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday, Revanth Reddy expressed his concern over the current permit system, which forces citizens to navigate through multiple government offices and departments to obtain construction and facility permits.
To address this issue, he proposed a single-window clearance system, where all applications, whether for residential or commercial construction, can be submitted and processed on a unified platform. Departments such as revenue, municipal administration, water resources, sewerage, police, fire services and electricity will be integrated into this coordinated system.
To aid this transformation, the Chief Minister directed officials to conduct LiDAR-based resource mapping and complete drone surveys across the core urban region. These surveys will help collect comprehensive data on houses, water supply, electricity and drainage infrastructure, ensuring that basic civic amenities are delivered without disruption.
“The goal is to end the outdated practice of applicants running from office to office,” said Revanth Reddy. “Delays in permit approvals should be eliminated, and if any do occur, citizens must be promptly informed of the reasons and guided on the next steps," he added.
Revanth Reddy said that all utility bills should also be payable through a single portal, with automatic distribution of funds to the respective departments. He also stressed the need for uniformity in departmental functioning, instructing all civic agencies to align their processes for better service delivery.
The Chief Minister’s advisor Vem Narendra Reddy, MAUD principal secretary Ilambarathi, HMDA commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad, GHMC commissioner R.V. Karnan, and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
