Clutch of Performers in ‘C’ Division Cricket League

Hyderabad:The Hyderabad Cricket Association’s ‘C’ Division One-Day League Championship produced a strong mix of explosive batting and match-defining bowling performances on Tuesday.

Four centuries led the individual batting charts, with Smarpit Verma’s 110 for Abhinav Colts the highest score, followed by Vaibhav Agarwal’s unbeaten 107, Shaik Rabbani’s 104 not out and Arshad Khan’s 101. The century-makers came in contrasting match situations, with Rabbani’s innings driving Nizam CC to a six-wicket chase and Agarwal’s 63-ball hundred powering Vijaypuri Willowmen to a rapid four-wicket victory.

Bowling also had a major influence, with 10 matches featuring five-wicket hauls. The outstanding figures came from Jaidev Goud and Abdul Ahad, both taking five wickets for just six runs. Jama Praneeth’s 5/16, S. D. Vara Prasad Rao’s 5/19 and G. Navacharan Goud’s 5/25 were among the other standout spells.

Several of these performances came in emphatic victories, underlining the importance of disciplined bowling in the division.

The competition also featured substantial team totals and commanding chases. Young Masters amassed 351/9, while Sunshine reached 343/7, both winning comfortably. Deccan Colts posted 256/5 and Red Hills made 261 in successful matches. At the other end, Sagar XI chased 101 without losing a wicket in only 12 overs, while Shanthi Associates completed a 62-run chase in 12.5 overs.
