Civic Bodies in Cure Area Net Rs 1,172 Crore From Building Permits in 2025–26
Cyberabad leads town planning revenue; permits and OCs drive collections

Hyderabad: After collecting Rs 2,558.80 crore property tax from the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) area, the three civic bodies collected Rs 1,172. 08 crore in 2025-26 from 17,957 approvals, 15,536 building permits and 2,427 occupancy certificates.
The town planning revenue from the 2,053-sq km CURE area, comprising the Greater Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri municipal corporations, surpassed the previous year’s mark of Rs 1,138.44 crore. The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation topped the chart with Rs 538. 09 crore, followed by the GHMC Rs 436.47 crore and the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation at Rs 198.24 crore.
Among the building permissions, all processed through the BuildNow portal, 972 were approved under the instant registration category. This covers individual residential buildings of plot area of up to 75 square yards and height up to 7 metres (G+1 floor). Another 12,014 were approved under the instant approval category for individual residential buildings of plot area up to 600 square yards and height up to 10 metres. In both cases, work commencement letter is issued post verification.
Another 2,515 building permissions were approved under the single window system for residential buildings of plot area above 597.99 square yards or height up to 10 metres. Approval is also given under this category for non-residential buildings, including high-rise buildings, group development schemes, apartment complexes, multiplexes and other constructions which require multiple no-objection certificates.
