CID arrests HCA Prez, 4 Others For Irregularities
The Crime Investigation Department (CID) has arrested Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President A. Jaganmohan Rao following a vigilance probe into allegations of ticket irregularities

Hyderabad: In a major development, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials on Wednesday arrested five persons associated with the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), including its president A. Jaganmohan Rao, for violations of rules and misuse of funds, after registering cases against them.
The CID registered cases under relevant sections based on a report by the Vigilance and Enforcement Wing on the irregularities in the HCA, in connection with allegations made by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The vigilance officials submitted the report to the state government a few days ago, and it was referred to the CID for further action.
The five persons arrested by the CID include HCA president A. Jaganmohan Rao, Sri Chakra Cricket Club general secretary Rajender Yadav and his wife Kavita, HCA treasurer C.J. Srinivas Rao, and CEO Sunil Bose Kante.
A team of CID officers, including officials of SP and DSP rank, armed with the vigilance report and other evidence, questioned the HCA president at the CID headquarters in connection with the IPL ticket sale irregularities.
The vigilance report found fault with the HCA president for threatening the SRH organisers to issue 10 per cent of IPL tickets to him. Jaganmohan Rao was also reported to have extended favours to Rajender Yadav and his wife Kavita. He was the vice-president of the Sri Chakra Cricket Club.
During the IPL matches, the HCA president exerted pressure on the SRH organisers to issue additional tickets. During questioning, CID officials asked Jaganmohan Rao to explain why he demanded an additional 10 per cent of IPL tickets when 10 per cent had already been allotted to the HCA. They also questioned him about getting the VIP galleries locked during the IPL matches between SRH and Lucknow Super Giants.
The officials recorded Jaganmohan Rao’s statement and are likely to produce him before the court for judicial remand. It was also reported that the CID is likely to arrest more HCA officials during the course of the investigation.
