Residents of Chinnagudur celebrated the transfer of SI.
Karimnagar: The transfer of sub-inspector Ch. Praveen Kumar Reddy from Chinnagudur police station in Mahbubabad district to CCS task force in the same district on Monday led to celebrations by villagers. He was one of the many cops who were transferred.
Residents burst firecrackers and distributed sweets, alleging harassment by the officer. Local leaders Gangadhari Anil and Neelam Shankarayya claimed the SI acted with political bias and registered false cases against those who questioned him. They alleged that he exceeded his jurisdiction and interfered in matters of other departments and neighbouring villages.
“Our village is finally liberated from the high-handedness of this official,” a resident said, alleging that his conduct had created fear among locals.
Villagers thanked Telangana DGP Shivadhar Reddy and district SP Sabharish for the transfer. Police officials have not responded to the allegations.
