Child, Pregnant Woman Die In Electrocution Mishaps In Telangana

KARIMNAGAR: Two separate and heartbreaking incidents of fatal electrocution in Jagtial and Warangal districts have cast a pall of gloom over the communities, claiming the lives of two innocent victims.
A major tragedy unfolded in Jagtial district on Tuesday night during the annual Brahmotsavam at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Kodimial mandal. An 11-year-old girl, Madhusri, daughter of Nagaraju and Mamatha, was participating in a kolatam dance during the deity’s procession when she accidentally came into contact with a live electrical wire. She died on the spot. Her sudden death in the middle of festive celebrations has shattered the family and plunged Kodimyal into deep sorrow.
In another incident in Narsampet, Warangal district, a pregnant woman was electrocuted on the day she was celebrating her birthday. The victim, Pratyusha, who was seven months pregnant and mother of a three-year-old boy, was removing clothes from a drying line in her yard when the iron wire used for the clothesline became accidentally energised.
She suffered a severe electric shock and collapsed. Although her family rushed her to a hospital, she was declared dead. The family, who had planned a cake-cutting ceremony later in the evening, is now grappling with the devastating loss of Pratyusha and her unborn child. The entire village has been left in shock.
