Child Abuse Cases: Two Persons Get Jail Terms

Adilabad: Sircilla Pocso Court Magistrate Radhika Jaiswal on Thursday sentenced a man to four years' imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 for sexually harassing his minor daughter in Rajanna Sircilla district.

Sircilla Superintendent of Police Gite Mahesh Babasaheb said the police conducted a thorough investigation following a complaint lodged by the victim's mother. He appreciated the investigating officers and staff for securing the conviction of the accused.

In another case, Mulugu Pocso Court Magistrate S.V.P. Surya Chandrakala sentenced K. Sammaiah, 35, a resident of Kamalapuram village in Mangapeta mandal of Mulugu district, to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 and directed payment of Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the victim.

Mulugu Superintendent of Police Sudhir Ramnath Kekan said the police take crimes against minors very seriously and are committed to ensuring strict action against offenders and securing convictions in Pocso cases.
