Cheated on Marriage Promise, Woman Attempts Suicide

Adilabad:A 20-year-old woman attempted suicide at an old police station building at Balkonda mandal headquarters in Nizamabad district on Saturday, alleging that she was cheated by a man who had promised to marry her. The woman, identified as Shrutika, sustained injuries and was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Police said she had lodged a complaint against Sai Kumar, alleging that he deceived her by promising marriage while concealing that he was already married. Following the incident, police registered a case and initiated an investigation into the complaint.

Family members of the woman demanded action against the accused.
