Telangana beckons: Miss World contestants explore its diverse treasures

Hyderabad: Telangana hosts the 72nd Miss World 2025, showcasing Hyderabad’s rich heritage. The government promotes tourism and investments. Contestants from 109 countries visited cultural sites, historical landmarks, and engaged with local communities.


Cultural Tours
Contestants explored the historic Charminar, taking a heritage walk and photographing the monument. They shopped at Laad Bazaar, visiting nine stores for traditional bangles, pearls, and ornaments.

Temple Visits
Nine contestants prayed at Lord Narasimha Temple in Yadagirigutta, wearing sarees and participating in Deeparadhana. They visited Ramappa Temple in Mulugu, known for 13th-century architecture. Twenty-two participants toured the Thousand Pillars Temple in Hanamkonda and Warangal Fort, learning about the temple’s architecture and Nandeeshwara idol.

Handloom Industry and Community Interaction
Twenty-five African contestants visited Pochampally, observing IKAT saree production and trying cotton spinning. They enjoyed a fashion show of handloom sarees. At Yadagirigutta, they experienced traditional rites, music, and dance, getting tattoos from local artists. The beauty queens enjoyed ‘kinnera’ and ‘dappu’ music and interacted with students at Kaloji Kala Kshetram in Warangal.
