Centre, State Working Together for Telangana’s Development: Revanth Reddy
“We don’t have any differences as long as the Centre continues to cooperate with the State government and work together to solve the problems of the people," the Chief Minister said
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said the Central and State governments were working in tandem for the development of Telangana.
He said this while addressing government employees after unveiling the Telangana Thalli statue and inaugurating the IDOC building in Karimnagar. “Our ideology might be different. But the Centre and State governments are working together for the overall development of Telangana,” he said.
“We don’t have any differences as long as the Centre continues to cooperate with the State government and work together to solve the problems of the people. It would certainly improve relations between the Centre and State governments, and it is like a give-and-take plan,” he explained.
Referring to remarks made by a few individuals about his visits to New Delhi, the Chief Minister said his visits to the national capital were aimed at bringing new projects and schemes to the State.
For instance, the land acquisition issue in Secunderabad Cantonment to connect it with north Telangana had been pending since the tenure of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in undivided Andhra Pradesh.
Former Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy had also focused on the issue, and even the BRS government tried to resolve it during its 10-year rule. But it did not happen. “When the Congress came to power in Telangana, I visited New Delhi and met the Union Ministers concerned and secured 170 acres of land,” he said.
Revanth Reddy said this paved the way for the construction of an elevated corridor connecting Karimnagar at a cost of Rs.5,000 crore, which would be completed in a year. For the first time, the Centre also accorded permission for laying an underground tunnel beneath Begumpet airport.
Thus, his visits to New Delhi were aimed at bringing projects and schemes to Telangana, he said, while appreciating the role played by 10.5 lakh government employees in taking welfare schemes to the people.
