Centre Assures Support for Telangana Welfare Scheme

He reviewed schemes being implemented by the state government in Scheduled Caste development, BC welfare (OBCs/EBCs/DNTs), welfare of persons with disabilities, and transgender welfare departments at the field level.

Hyderabad:Union secretary, ministry of social justice and empowerment, Sudhansh Pant, assured support to Telangana in welfare initiatives during his visit here on Monday. He reviewed schemes being implemented by the state government in Scheduled Caste development, BC welfare (OBCs/EBCs/DNTs), welfare of persons with disabilities, and transgender welfare departments at the field level.

Earlier, he paid a courtesy visit to welfare minister Adluri Laxman Kumar at the Secretariat. The minister presented a comprehensive report on key initiatives and said the state government was giving top priority to the welfare of the groups. Secretary Pant visited a day care centre, an old age home, and a de‑addiction centre at Masab Tank and expressed satisfaction with the facilities and the state’s efforts in elderly care. He stated that additional funds would be considered from the Centre if required.
