Celebrate Bakrid in Communal Harmony: Cyberabad CP

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police commissioner Dr M. Ramesh appealed to citizens to celebrate Bakrid peacefully upholding communal harmony and avoid any untoward incidents.

Dr Ramesh interacted with different religious leaders and community representatives at a peace committee meeting at the police commissionerate on Monday, and urged their cooperation in ensuring smooth celebrations.

He said, “surveillance has been intensified on anti-social elements for the past 45 days. Strict action would be taken against anyone trying to disrupt peace. Checkposts were established at various locations and police were coordinating closely with other government departments to maintain law and order.”

He also cautioned citizens against fake news, old videos and misleading social media content aimed at creating unrest and urged people to immediately alert police regarding suspicious posts.

Quthubullapur DCP N. Koti Reddy said suggestions made by religious leaders would be considered and stressed the importance of unity and mutual respect. Serilingampally DCP C.H. Srinivas said police would remain vigilant throughout the festival, while Kukatpally DCP Ritiraj urged peace committee members to support communal harmony.
