Accused who escaped from police custody caught again by CCS Medchal; inquiry continues.

Nagarkurnool: The Central Crime Station (CCS) police on Tuesday arrested a notorious interstate thief. According to police sources, the accused has been identified as Telugu Nagireddy alias Mallepula Nagireddy, a native of Veerapuram village in Kothapalli mandal of Nandyal district in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. He is an accused in several theft cases registered under the limits of Kalwakurty Police Station.
Kalwakurty police had taken Nagireddy into custody on November 11 from Ananthapuram, where he was lodged as a prisoner, for investigation. However, on November 13, he allegedly escaped from police custody. Despite immediate efforts, the police failed to apprehend him.
Following the incident, higher authorities issued a charge memo to Kalwakurty Sub-Inspector Madhava Reddy, while the two constables were placed under suspension.
It is learnt that CCS police from Medchal, Hyderabad, re-arrested Nagireddy on Tuesday night and shifted him to Kalwakurty Police Station for further investigation.
