CBSE exams begin with English, Entrepreneurship
All the exam halls had CCTV cameras placed in the entry and exit points

Hyderabad: The Central Board Of Secondary Education examinations for Classes 10 and 12 started on Saturday. The examinations were conducted from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm. Class 10 exams will be continue till March 18 and Class 12 exams will conclude on April 4. A total of 7,780 centres have been allocated for the exams.
An additional one hour writing time was provided to specially-abled students as per the rules of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, accordingly separate rooms and wheelchair facility was provided.
Each examination hall accommodated 24 students, with two invigilators. As per CBSE guidelines, students were allowed to carry a transparent water bottle, a pouch and an exam pad. They were also required to attend the exam in school uniform and carry the school identity cards.
All the exam halls had CCTV cameras placed in the entry and exit points.
For every 10 exam halls, a dedicated control room was set-up with an assistant superintendent assigned to oversee the surveillance.
CBSE city coordinator Sanjeev Neelakanta said, “Question papers were distributed to students by 10.15 am to give students time to read the question paper. Each exam centre was assigned a superintendent and an observer and seating arrangements were as per CBSE norms. There are more than 100 examination centres in the city,” he added.
Another city coordinator K. Bhavani said, “The examination arrangements of the city were managed under the instructions of Vijayawada regional unit. The board ensured that exam centres were accessible to students and followed all the guidelines.”
“Additionally, diabetic students were permitted to carry food items which were submitted to the centre superintendent and other staff to ensure it was provided at the right time,” she added.
On the first day, class 10 students and faculty found the English paper to be of moderate difficulty. The Class 12 Entrepreneurship paper was also said to be of moderately difficult.
