Cash-for-Marks Allegation at Shadan College: BEd Students Claim Absent Peers Passed for ₹8,000
The student alleged that some candidates awarded marks and academic credit despite their non-attendance, based on a set payment from college.

Hyderabad:Five students from Shadan College of Education have alleged irregularities in the BEd practical exams, internship attendance and internal marks raising concern over fairness and transparency in the evaluation process.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Aneesunissa, a student, said that she was disappointed with her semester result despite attending practical exams, participating in a learning resource development workshop, submitting assignments on time and completing internship. She alleged that the college had to award 50 marks for workshop and pedagogy practical exams. According to her, she was informed that 46 marks were awarded by the faculty which should correspond to ‘O’ grade. However, results showed a ‘B’ grade of around 30 and below.
She claimed that she had screenshots, group practical geo-tagged photographs and other material indicating that certain students who were absent for final practical examinations had passed and were given better grades than those who regularly attended classes.
The student alleged that some candidates awarded marks and academic credit despite their non-attendance, based on a set payment from college. Aneesunissa alleged that she possessed a WhatsApp conversation referring to an amount of `8,000 in connection with the semester internship attendance, along with other material.
She also flagged the issue with Osmania University officials, urging them to investigate and verify the records.
Responding to the allegations, college faculty Sadanand said there was no intention to reduce the marks of students. He stated that regular attendance alone would not guarantee higher marks, as students also needed to submit the records, complete teaching practice and perform well in exams.
