BRS MLA booked over unpaid dues, threats

BRS MLA threatened company for asking to clear Rs.19.92 lakh pending dues

Hyderabad: The Pet Basheerabad police have registered a case against BRS MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy for allegedly threatening Vision Property Management Services (VPMS), a Madhapur-based firm after it demanded payment of Rs 19.92 lakh in pending dues for housekeeping services provided at Arundathi Hospital in Dundigal.

The case was filed based on a complaint by Kollu Yesu Babu, a representative of VPMS. In his complaint, Babu stated that the company has been providing housekeeping, security and manpower services under the name since 2005 from its Madhapur office.

VPMS submitted a housekeeping quotation to Arundathi Hospital, which was accepted. The firm began its services on February 25, 2022, deploying 28 housekeeping staff along with the required materials.

According to the complainant, invoices were raised monthly but were not paid in full. Arbitrary deductions were made on flimsy grounds. Despite multiple written representations, Rs 19.92 lakh in dues remain unpaid.

Babu noted that after several ignored requests, some mutual acquaintances helped arrange a meeting with the hospital founder, who assured him the dues would be cleared. However, Rajasekhar Reddy, who initially agreed to resolve the issue, allegedly reneged on his promise and began issuing threats.

The FIR stated that the MLA threatened the complainant, warning him not to pursue the matter further and allegedly saying his henchmen would "finish him off" if he continued to demand payment. Police have booked the case under Sections 316(2) and 318(4) of the BNS.
