Cantonment To Launch Monthly Praja Vani

SCB CEO Madhukar Naik, defence estates officer Dinesh Reddy and nominated board member Banuka Narmada held a review meeting to finalise the structure of the programme.

Hyderabad:Residents of Secunderabad Cantonment will soon have a dedicated monthly forum to raise ward-wise civic issues under a new programme called Cantonment Vani. The initiative will launch on September 10 in Ward 1 and will be held on the 10th of every month across all wards.

The programme aims to bring together officials from the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB), state government departments and defence estates to address complaints related to roads, drainage, drinking water, electricity and other basic amenities. Awareness and implementation of government welfare schemes in the Cantonment area will also be a focus.

SCB CEO Madhukar Naik, defence estates officer Dinesh Reddy and nominated board member Banuka Narmada held a review meeting to finalise the structure of the programme. Officials said the effort is intended to improve transparency, speed up grievance redressal and bridge the communication gap between residents and authorities in civilian pockets of the Cantonment.

Cantonment MLA N. Sriganesh, who attended the meeting, said the programme is designed to ensure sustained engagement with residents at the grassroots. It will serve as a ward-level platform for organised and timely resolution of issues, he added.
