Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills police arrested a car driver for sexually harassing his step-daughter. Accused Bachali Vijay, 35, was arrested after the victim lodged a complaint against him, police said. The victim employed as a domestic help stated that after her father’s death in 2008, her mother had a second marriage with Vijay in 2009.
She narrated her ordeal to her mother and thereafter a complaint was lodged with Medipally police station as Zero FIR and later the case was transferred to Jubilee Hills police station. Vijay was arrested and sent to judicial remand, a police officer, said.
During investigation, it was found that Vijay is working as driver. The accused’s step-daughter (victim) got married in 2021 and has two children and she stays separately with her husband and children.
The victim’s mother and stepfather alleged that Vijay who also lives in the same locality, that the accused was abusing the victim for the past 30 days and on April 8 night, he sexually assaulted her when she was alone, police quoting victim’s parents, said.
However, the victim managed to escape from his clutches and narrated her ordeal to her mother and thereafter the complaint was registered. The accused was traced and produced before the court and later sent to judicial remand, the police officer, added.
