Businessman’s Death Triggers Tension At Borabanda; Case Booked Against Corporator

Irate family members staged a demonstration at Borabanda police station demanding stern action against Baba Fasiuddin

Hyderabad: The death of a 35-year-old businessman Mohammed Sardar at SRT Nagar early Thursday triggered tension in Borabanda as the family members alleged that the corporator Baba Fasiuddin was responsible for the incident.

Irate family members staged a demonstration at Borabanda police station demanding stern action against Fasiuddin and others. They relented after the police assured that necessary action would be taken against those responsible for the incident.

In his complaint, Mohammed Ibrahim stated that his elder brother Sardar, who runs a medical shop, committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of the house leading to injuries on his hand and other parts of the body. The family members rushed him to a private hospital in Sanathnagar where doctors declared him dead.

Ibrahim said Sardar was suffering from mental pressure for the last three months after he started renovation works of the house. When Fasiuddin started demanding money, Sardar refused to pay heed to it.

Fasiuddin along with his wife Habeeba Sultana and his associates came to Sardar’s house and threatened him with dire consequences. Fasuddin with the help of town planning officials demolished the third floor of Sardar’s house.

He again came to Sardar’s house and informed him that it had not yet ended with the demolition. Fasiuddin claimed that the whole municipal department is in his hands and he would demolish Sardar’s house from foundation.

Ibrahim further stated that Sardar was under tremendous pressure believing he was responsible for problems after demolition. In spite of advising him to be bold, Sardar could not overcome the trauma and ended his life.

The complaint said that “This has not only happened with his brother. Many such things have happened in the Borabanda division.” “The reason for my brother’s death is Fasiuddin, his wife Habeeba Sultana and personal assistant Saptagiri apart from officers of the Town planning department,” the complainant said, requesting the police to take necessary action.

Based on the complaint, the police booked a case under Section 108 of BNS and took up investigation.
