Nalgonda: Bus-Tanker Collision On NH 16, 2 Drivers Injured, Passengers Safe

Nalgonda: Two drivers were seriously injured when a private bus travelling from Bhimavaram to Hyderabad collided with a cement tanker near Muthyalamma Gudem in Kattangur mandal of Nalgonda district on Tuesday.
Kattangur police said the accident occurred when the tyre of the travel bus suddenly burst, causing the driver to lose control and cross over the divider and ram into the tanker. The front portion of the bus was severely damaged. Both the bus and tanker drivers, who were trapped in their cabins, were rescued by police and locals and shifted to a nearby hospital.
Around 40 passengers on the bus escaped with minor injuries. Arrangements were made for the passengers to return to Hyderabad. The mishap briefly disrupted traffic on the national highway. Kattangur police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
