Burra Venkatesham Takes Charge as TGPSC Chairman

Hyderabad: “Restoring confidence in TGPSC is my responsibility and every process will be conducted transparently and on time,” said Burra Venkatesham after taking charge as the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) Chairman at Nampally on Thursday. Addressing the media and aspirants, he assured the commission would work at par with the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), with no room for delays or inefficiencies.
Venkatesham, an IAS officer who voluntarily retired after three and half years of service as Telangana’s special chief secretary to the education department, said he had resigned from his position to fulfill the aspirations of Telangana’s unemployed youth.
Highlighting his expertise in handling examination processes, he promised that question papers would be error-free and that the results, including those of DSC, would be declared within 60 days. “No candidate needs to have doubts about delays. Everything will proceed as per schedule,” he assured the aspirants.
He also warned against fraudulent activities, advising candidates to report any bribery or influence claims directly to the police. “A dedicated helpline will soon be established for public grievances and complaints. TGPSC will operate independently, ensuring justice without fear or favour,” he told reporters.
The state government recently approved Venkatesham’s appointment after the term of the previous chairman, Mahendar Reddy, ended. He will serve as TGPSC chairman until April 2030.
